Sidewalk Chalk

Dallin and I enjoy sitting out in the grass in front of our building. The problem is that Dallin never wants to stay on the grass. He'd rather crawl off into the parking lot, and I'd rather he didn't get motor oil all over himself. Thinking I was so clever, I brought out sidewalk chalk.
Surely this would be able to keep him on the sidewalk and away from the dirty parking lot!

It lasted for about 30 seconds.

Dallin realized he could move the bucket of chalk and take it with him to the parking lot.
There's no way to trick this kid.

The chalk did keep him off the parking lot more than normal, so it was a small success.
And he had a blast getting chalk all over himself, not so much on the sidewalk.
(Notice the chalk on his lip and cheek...?)

....and legs and shoes and ankle braces?

Nothing that a bath and lots of baby wipes can't fix!

Parade of Food

I finally got around to taking pictures of the felt food I made Dallin for his birthday. To be completely honest, I needed to finish up a few more little pieces before showing it all to you. (And it took me 2 months to finish those pieces.) But you'll love 'em!

First off: Breakfast!
And it's happy to see ya!

I love the idea of the 3 dimensional butter (rather than just a flat square of yellow felt), but I don't love how mine turned out. I do think it gives the pancake a little something though.

For lunch: a sandwich, complete with 2 pieces of bread, deli meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato.
I think my favorite food piece is the tomato slice. I love all the detail and the little seeds.
Fruits and vegetables (not including the oranges and banana I posted about before)
The apple is probably my least favorite. It's tiny and awkward. It doesn't look natural. But I love the carrots and strawberries!

And of course, some sweets.
Chocolate chip cookies and a sprinkle donut.

Dallin loves playing with all his felt food. Well, he picks it up and shoves it in his mouth, but that's a good sign that I did a good job, right?

I have more felt and I'll probably add a few more food items to the collection over time, but it'll be a while. I'm felted out at the moment.

Right now I'll settle for making real delicious food, like homemade vanilla ice cream on top of homemade peach pie.

House Progress

This is what our house looks like recently.
The exterior is finished (except for a driveway and grass).

The walls are painted, vinyl flooring is in, and the doors and trim are up.

Here is our kitchen:
The guest bathroom is pretty much done.

And check out the "bulbous" shower head in the master bathroom.
If all goes well we should be moving in soon, in about 2 1/2 weeks!

Williams Syndrome Publicity

(Check out the post below for pictures and gender of baby #2.)

Today is a pretty big day for promoting Williams Syndrome Awareness. First off, back in November I mentioned a documentary called Embraceable - A film about Williams Syndrome. That film is now available to buy today on their website. We haven't purchased it ourselves yet, since the $30 price tag looks a little hefty as we're about to move into a new home and buy new appliances. We are very much looking forward to seeing it though and I thought I'd pass on the information in case others wanted to see it as well.

Also, tonight the TV show 20/20 on ABC will air a segment about Williams Syndrome. This was filmed a while ago and has been in the works for quite some time, so there's been quite a buzz around the WS community about when this would air. Make sure you tune in tonight (you'll have to check for local times) or set your Tivo so you can watch it later. Or you can watch it the next day on Hulu, which is probably what we'll be doing. Whatever the method, don't miss this opportunity. It always excites me to see older children and young adults with WS, because it helps me get a glimpse of what Future Dallin might be like.

It's a....

...baby!
We had the 20 week ultrasound today and it's offical: There's a baby in there!

Oh, you probably wanted to know the gender too.

It's a boy!!!

We are so excited to be having another boy. We're already equipped to have a boy so that will make things a little easier. And he'll probably catch up to Dallin's size in no time so they can share clothes!

The ultrasound was great! This one seemed a lot clearer than what I remember from Dallin's ultrasound. We could see everything on our little guy. His heart, kidneys, brain, etc. looked great.

We even got an awesome/creepy shot of his face.
You know he's gonna be and already is a cute baby, but his face still looks like an alien.

We got a CD of pictures and videos from the ultrasound. I'm having trouble trying to post a video, so I'll try again later. Just know that he's so much cuter in motion!

His size is right on track with where it should be, so we're still looking at a due date of October 27th.
We're excited to have 2 boys that will be close together developmentally. I'm sure Dallin is going to be a great big brother and help out, but I think this little guy will also be able to teach Dallin a few things.

Family Fun

Mom and Dad Easton came to visit us over Memorial day weekend. We had so much fun with them. We saw a lot of sites in Lafayette and the surrounding area.
We ate at XXX Family Restaurant, featured on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. We had some delicious burgers and their famous root beer.

Then we went to Columbian Park Zoo, our local zoo. It's pretty small, but it's free and Dallin had a blast.
Dallin's favorite part was the Dinosaur Dig area.
This boy loves to play in the dirt.

And he talked on the...
...safety googles.

Mckay got in on the fun too.
Here's proof that there were actually animals at the zoo.
There were lots of other animals, but apparently none were picture-worthy.

At the end of a hot day, Dallin loved cooling off in the park fountain.
It was great to spend 4 days relaxing and having fun with family.

Gender Poll

The date for our 20 week ultrasound is set for next Thursday. This gives you a week to guess if baby Easton #2 is a boy or a girl. Cast your vote in the poll on the right of the blog. Hopefully the baby will cooperate with us and we'll be able to tell you if you're right!
