Have you ever been so hungry...?

Have you ever been so hungry that you ate right through the wrapper of a granola bar?
Connor has.

A little too happy

This is a pretty typical "just before bedtime" scene at our house. The boys seem to be their happiest and cutest right before bedtime. It's like they think if they behave and act very cute, we won't want to throw them into bed. And it works for them most of the time!

Jumping is hard work.

Bow Ties

Dallin and Connor wore matching bow ties to church today.

I made them out of felt inspired by this.
I don't think Dallin understood that him and Connor were matching, but he sure got a kick out of sitting together and holding his hand while we took pictures.

Easily Entertained

We have a marble track on our refrigerator that Dallin loves to play with. (What child wouldn't?)

One day he spent about 10 solid minutes doing this while I did the dishes:
If only he'd realized that he was holding the marble catching cup for the end of the track in his hand. It would have saved him a lot of walking back and forth.

This is another video of the same thing, but with a more amusing ending.

Packing

We've been busy packing up all of our possessions. Even the cute ones.
I promise we were not torturing our child. He never once cried or resisted. In fact, he was laughing and smiling. Mckay has a way of getting Dallin to do anything by laughing and making it seem like a game.

We close on our house in one week, and we are so excited to be moving! Our tiny apartment just gets smaller when you stack a wall of boxes in the living room.

I think Dallin will be a big asset in unpacking boxes when we get in our house.
You should have seen how quickly he "unpacked" this box of crackers.
(Also contrary to what these pictures show, I do put clothes on my child. This happened to be a particularly lazy hot day.)

Crackers and "Cheese"

This is what happens when Dallin asks you for food and you don't respond right away:
He goes to the pantry and gets his own food.

I'll need to start putting the crackers on a higher shelf.

Pictures of Dallin

Here are a few pictures of Dallin from my phone that I thought were pretty funny.

In a few public bathrooms, there is a seat attached to the wall so you can strap your kid in while you go to the bathroom.

It looked so funny to see Dallin just hanging there, kicking his feet.

Making his selection from the vending machine.

This is from one of our shopping trips when we were visiting in California.
Dallin was trying to fit in with the all the other cool kids.

Overalls

While going through some of Dallin's clothes, I found a pair of blue denim overalls in a 12 month size. 12M is not quite his size yet, but he is getting much taller so I thought I'd try them on him. I think overalls look so cute on babies, but I wasn't sure if he would be too old to still look as cute in overalls.
He is definitely not too old for overalls! I think he looks so stinking cute in them!
And I am so proud of him that he fits into 12M size pants! There's still room to grow, but he is by no means drowning in them.

This boy has been very much into books recently.
He's constantly crawling to me with a book in hand and signing what he thinks is the sign for "book," but is actually the sign for "more." We're still working on clearing this up.

He has been mobile for 5 months but he's only just now realized that he can reach the books on the bookshelf and pull them off.
He's very good at only touching "his" books. He doesn't even care about the other ones.

He's loving pop-up books lately. He's usually very gentle with them and doesn't try to rip the pictures.
Usually.
He's even figuring out how to work the little pull tabs in the books.
My little overall boy is growing up so fast.

Getting ready for bed

I was getting Dallin ready for bed tonight and I took him into the bathroom to brush his teeth. I set him down so that I could get the toothpaste out. In the very short amount of time it took for me to get his toothbrush ready, he did this:
I don't know where he got the idea to climb into the drawer. He's never done it before.

I'm sure it won't be the last time either.

Bubble Bath

Dallin loves taking baths. He likes to wade around in the water and play with his toys.
The other day he started blowing bubbles in the water with his mouth. I love that he figured out how to do that. It's pretty cute.

Tasty Music

I keep a box of piano music underneath the piano. Dallin likes to crawl over to the piano and stand up by the box.
I always think he's so cute when he does that.

Now I've found out what he's really been doing.
He took a bite out of my music book!

Do you think I can say "paper" when the doctors ask what he's been eating?

Licks

I went grocery shopping today and when I got home, I set the groceries down on the floor while I put them away. Dallin crawled over to the gallon of milk I had just purchased and started licking the condensation off of it.
Weird.... or cute?

You decide.

Proof

Finally, proof that Dallin can really crawl. He's crawling more and more and will go further distances now. To get him to crawl for this video, I had to bribe him with my wallet. This child would crawl miles to be able to play with my wallet and credit cards.
I love it! It makes me so happy every time I see him crawl. Even if he crawls to get into something he's not supposed to, I can't get mad at him because I'm just so proud of him.

Dallin's New Trick

Dallin has been doing this new thing with his tongue. It's really cute. He started doing it a few days ago, and now he keeps doing because he's know that we'll laugh when he does.

You'll laugh too.

Here's more of it.

Our Little Explorer

Dallin was crawling/scooting all over the floor tonight before bed. He made his way all the way over to the kitchen table and went under it.
He found some cool things to play with under there, like a can of soda
and a refrigerator magnet.
I think he like's being mobile.

Up again

Dallin has been pulling himself up to stand by all kinds of things (see previous post), but he just discovered today that he can stand at the toilet.
He was so proud of himself for figuring this one out.
But when he discovered the fun water in the bowl to play with, I directed him to a new, cleaner toy.

While folding laundry today, Dallin started putting things into the hamper, and then he crawled in after them.
I love this kid!

Tongue Face

Dallin has a new funny face he likes to make.

He likes to copy when other people do it too.

He cracks me up.

And for those who feel so inclined, here's a short video of the tongue face in action.

That's what trucks are for.

Yesterday we sat outside and played in the grass. Dallin thought it would be fun to start picking the grass, flowers, anything nearby, and put it in the back of his truck.
What a smart boy.

Luck o' the Irish!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
It's gonna be a good day.
How could it not be with a face like that?
