We've officially lived in Indiana for a year now. We like it here.
But yesterday I saw something I didn't expect, even for living in a small mid-west town...
We went to a furniture store. On the sidewalk leading to the store, we saw this:
A possum, playing dead, 10 feet from the door.
That possum is doing a pretty good job of playing dead. He had me convinced.

ReplyDeleteI wondered too if he was actually dead or just playing it. We watched him for a bit and could see him breathing and moving his whiskers. He was definitely alive, but wouldn't move an inch as got within 2 feet of him.
ReplyDeleteThat possum is a very convincing actor. He looks pretty dead to me. I loved all the animals that we had at our house in Missouri. The midwest has a lot of different critters.
ReplyDeleteIn some parts of the country, they would call that dinner, but he does not look like there is much meat on him.
ReplyDeleteUgh! I hate possums. We had one ambling across our backyard last fall. Freaked me out. Nasty little critter!
